The 2015 Ford F-150 is available with several different engines. The reason its new four-engine lineup is game changing is because these engines feature improved power-to-weight ratios that improve performance while maximizing fuel economy. This latter feature is important in a truck, especially nowadays. The ability to work longer using less fuel, now that’s a terrific quality to have in a pickup truck! So let’s talk a little bit more about these engine choices. The first is the 2.7-liter EcoBoost® V6 engine, which has an 8,500-pound towing capacity and a 2,250-pound payload capacity, when properly equipped. In terms of power, this little beauty puts out 325 horsepower and 375 foot-pounds of torque! That’ll get you and your camping trail up even the steepest mountain roads. And then there’s the 3.5-liter EcoBoost® V6 engine, which kicks out 365 horsepower and 420 foot-pounds of torque, not to mention it has an aluminum engine block and cylinder heads for light-weight performance.
The next two engines are flex-fuel engines, which means they can be run using Regular Unleaded gasoline or the biofuel alternative E85 gasoline. The first of these flex-fuel engines is the 3.5-liter Ti-VCT V6. Don’t be fooled by its great fuel economy, thus puppy still puts out a respectable 282 horsepower and 253 foot-pounds of torque, and did we mention it has a 12,200-pound towing capacity! But the big prize goes to the biggest engine in the bunch, the 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8 engine. You heard that right. This flex-fuel engine is a V8! Even better, it puts out a monstrous 385 horsepower and 387 foot-pounds of torque. Environmentally conscious and hugely powerful, now that’s a truck built for the modern era. And all of these engine choices are available today in our stunning lineup of new 2015 Ford F-150 pickup trucks at Way Scarff Ford Auburn.
